Number of pages attached: 1 Date(s) of review for release: September 2017 Date of approval for release: Date approved by Village Board: March 14, 2017 M February 28, 2017 6:20 p.m. Land Acquisition The Township is interested in the proposed land swap of the Chelmsford property for the Landmeier Public Works Facility. The Township has to hold a meeting to approve the purchase of the Landmeier facility. The Village needs time to prepare the new James Petri Public Works Facility before we can vacate the old one. The Township will not be selling the property at Arlington Heights Road until they are ready to make the move. The Park Board President is willing to run the daycare for a year or two, if paid to run it by the Township, but the rest of the Park District Board is not interested. The Mayor proposed selling the park land to the Park District and the building to a Bulgarian daycare center. The Park Board President requested time to get his Board to agree to run the daycare. The Park District had some concerns about the state of the building, and there may be work down the line, but the building meets code requirements. The Mayor confirmed the price of the property will be $2.5 million, however he offered to lower the purchase price by the amount of work needed in the building. The Park District would like to pay the value of the property without the building, $1.3 million. The Village will not accept the lower valuation; the Board is interested in seeing the daycare continue operation. The money for this property is needed to help fund the building of a new public works facility. The consensus of the Board was to have staff begin the paperwork on the land swap with the Township and to continue negotiations with the Park District. The meeting was adjourned at 6:33 p.m.
