*---I Land Acquisition
The Elk Grove Township is touring the James P. Petri Public Works facility on April 8 in
anticipation of moving forward with the land swap for the Chelmsford property. The Park District
Board had a special meeting last week and the majority of the Park Board would like to buy the
entire Chelmsford property, including the daycare, for approximately $2 million. They would
commit to run the daycare for 1 to 2 years.
The consensus of the Board was to move forward with negotiating a sale of the Chelmsford
property to the Park District, with a starting price of $2.25 million and an end goal of a minimum
$2 million purchase price. Additional requirements of the deal would be that the Park District run
the daycare for a minimum of one year, and that if the daycare is shut down in the future the land
would not be developed, but would remain open space.
The Township will be informed that the Village will not be able to vacate the Public Works
Facility on Landmeier until December of 2018.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:18 p.m.
