Land Acquisition
The Mayor advised the Board that he has had conversations with the Bulgarian school related to
the sale of the current Township property located on Chelmsford. The consensus of the Board is
for the Village to seek $2.3 million for the entire site. If the Bulgarian school does not want the
entire site, the consensus of the Board was for the Village to sell the school portion of the site to
the Bulgarian School for $1.375 million, and the open space to the Park District for $927,000.
The Mayor was also advised that the Park Board President was going to attempt to get
authorization from the Park Board for up to $2 million for the purchase of the entire site.
If a deal cannot be reached with the Park Board or Bulgarian School, it was the consensus of the
Board to sell the property for new home construction.
On Saturday, April 8, the Township Board toured the Landmeier Public Works Facility. The
feedback is that they are very much in favor of acquiring the facility.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:24 p.m.
