AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 5-3-1 AND 5-3-2 OF THE ELK GROVE VILLAGE
CODE AS THEY PERTAIN TO ADOPTING THE 2012 EDITION OF THE INTERNATIONAL
FIRE CODE AND PROVIDING FOR ANY AMENDMENTS THERETO BY AMENDING
SECTION 901.6.2 OF THE INTERNATIONAL FIRE CODE RELATING TO RECORDS OF
INSPECTIONS
BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village,
Counties of Cook and DuPage as follows:
Section 1: That Section 5-3-2 of the Village Code concerning amendments to the 2012
International Fire Code adopted by Section 5-3-1, be amended by deleting the present section 901.6.2 and
substituting therefor, the following:
901.6.2 Records. All contractors who perform inspections, tests and maintenance required by
referenced standards of the International Fire Code shall submit the records of said inspections,
tests and maintenance to the Village in such form and in such manner as designated by the Fire
Department of the Village. The owner of the subject property being inspected or tested shall be
additionally responsible for its contractor who performs the tests or inspections to submit same to
the Village in such form and manner as required by the Village.
Section 2: Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this Ordinance shall
be subject to a fine of not less than fifty dollars ($50.00) nor more than five hundred dollars ($500.00) for
each offense.
Section 3: That the Village Clerk is authorized to publish this Ordinance in pamphlet form.
Section 4: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage,
approval and publication according to law.
