Chainnan Petri called the meeting to order.
MFT STREET MAINTENANCE PROGRAM-2016
The Committee reviewed the proposed street maintenance program which includes the
resurfacing of 4.63 miles of streets and the rehabilitation of curb, sidewalk and handicap curb
ramps. The 2016 MFT program shown in the attached exhibits has an estimated construction
cost of$1,256,400.
The resurfacing program exhibit reviewed at the meeting identified streets which are on the
2016 resurfacing list, streets that have been resurfaced between 2011-2015, and those which
have not been resurfaced since 2000. In addition to the MFT street resurfacing, Biesterfield
Road (Meacham to Rohlwing) and Oakton Street(Shadywood to Higgins) will be resurfaced
through the use of STP funding. The Northwest Municipal Council has recently begun to
accept resurfacing projects through the STP program making them eligible for 75 percent
federal funding.
Additionally, in Fall of 2016,Greenleaf Boulevard (Tonne to Busse) will be resurfaced
utilizing funds budgeted in the Business Leaders Forum (BLF) account.
The Committee recommended the implementation of the proposed program. The Street
Maintenance Program is targeted for a contract letting in February 2016.
