AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE HOURLY RATE FOR PART-TIME POSITIONS OF
CUSTODIAN, PORTER, HEALTH CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER, FIRE
INSPECTOR, AND WATER METER READER; TEMPORARY PART-TIME
ADMINISTRATIVE INTERN AND SUMMER SEASONAL EMPLOYEE; SCHOOL
CROSSING GUARD; AND CROSS -SEASONAL OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE
VILLAGE
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, State of Illinois:
Section 1: That the hourly wage for Custodian, Porter, Health Code Enforcement Officer
and Fire Inspector personnel of the Village of Elk Grove Village shall be and are hereby
established as follows:
PROBATIONARY REGULAR
POSITION HOURLY RATE HOURLY RATE
Custodian $19.36 $19.66
Porter $16.63 $18.29
Health Code Enforcement Officer $16.06
Fire Inspector $19.02
Section 2: That the wages for part-time Water Meter Readers of the Village of Elk
Grove Village shall be paid on a per -meter read basis, depending on meter type, and is hereby
amended as follows:
PAYMENT

Inside Meter $1.19
Glass Block Meter $1.09
Readomatic Meter

Section 3: That when an inside meter cannot be read because the customer is not at
home or a glass block meter cannot be read due to obstructions of dirt, the Meter Reader shall
leave a meter reading reply card for the customer to complete and return for which the Meter
Reader shall be paid a rate of $0.47 per card.
Section 4: That the hourly salary for Interns for the Village of Elk Grove Village shall
be and are hereby amended as follows:
POSITION DEPARTMENT HOURLY RATE
Intern Health, $15.51 per hour
Community Development,
Public Works (Engineering)
Intern (Administrative) Community Development, $18.95 per hour
Village Manager (First 6 months)
$19.75 per hour
(After 6 months)
Section 5: That the hourly salary for Summer Employees of the Village of Elk Grove
Village shall be and are hereby amended as follows:

2nd Summer
Each Summer thereafter
$12.10 per hour
$13.26 per hour
$14.17 per hour
Section 6: That the weekly salaries for School Crossing Guards of the Village of Elk
Grove Village, during the 42 weeks of school, shall be and are hereby established as follows:

Section 7: That the hourly salary for Cross Seasonal Employees of the Village of Elk
Grove Village shall be and are hereby amended as follows:
Cross -Seasonal*
$19.36 per hour
(*Note: Position would be full-time for nine (9) months with benefits. It is included in part-
time ordinance since the position will only work 9 months as full-time.)
Section 8: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect as of May 1, 2019 and
upon its passage and approval according to law.
