HomeMy WebLinkAboutFIRE & POLICE COMMISSION - 4/15/2019MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF FIRE AND POLICE COMMISSIONERS OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE HELD ON APRIL 15TH 2019 Approval of Minutes Review of Minutes from March 18th 2019. – The Minutes were approved. Invoices for Approval Invoice from Advocate Occupational Health for medical examinations dated March 29th in the amount of 2030. Invoice from Conrad Polygraph for Polygraph Examinations dated March 30th in the amount of 1440. All invoices were approved. Correspondence Correspondence from the Chief of Police to the Fire and Police Commission regarding the suspension of an officer dated March 27 2019. Correspondence from Chief Walsh to the Fire and Police Commission regarding the suspension of an officer dated April 1st 2019. Old Business 1. Police Department Updates – The Police Department sent 4 officers to the April 1st SLEA academy. The Police Department will reserve spots in the next academy for potential future hires. The Police Department has 1 retirement planned for the month of May as well. 2. Fire Department Updates – The Fire Department does not have any planned retirements. 3. Rule Review for Commission – The commission will continue to look at updating its rules. The commission will wait on further feedback from city officials prior to making further changes. New Business 1. Final Probationary Review for Firefighter – All feedback was positive. The firefighter’s probation will be lifted. 2. 6 Month Probationary Review for Firefighter. – The firefighter received all positive feedback and is progressing well. The Firefighters final review will be scheduled for July. Eligibility List 1. Firefighter Eligibility List will expire on 09/15/2019. 2. Fire Lieutenant Eligibility list scheduled to expire on 02/27/2020. 3. Police Officer Eligibility list Expires 02/21/2019 4. Police Sergeant Eligibility list scheduled to expire on 07/08/2021.
