OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE
HELD ON JUNE 19TH, 2018
Approval of Minutes
Minutes for 5-16-2018 – The minutes were approved.
Invoices for Approval
Invoice 1920 from Advocate Occupational Health for (3) Three medical exams for police entry
dated 6/5/2018 in the amount of $1,076
All Invoices were approved.
Correspondence
None
Old Business
1. Update on the Police Department Vacancies – There were 3 Police applicants appointed to
the position of police officer. The officers will start on 6/20/2018. This leaves 5 vacancies
total for the police. The commission will begin the process of hiring additional officers.
2. Background Reviews – The commission reviewed backgrounds for Police and fire
candidates.
3. Discussion on the exhaustion of Police List – All of the names on the current police list have
been contacted. The current list is exhausted. The commission will begin planning for the
creation on the next list.
New Business
1. Signing of extended Police List – There were 4 names that made the new list. The
commission signed the extended list. The commission will begin the hiring process for the
newly extended list.
2. Fire Department Retirement – A fire lieutenant is retiring. The next lieutenant on the list
will be promoted, which will create a vacant firefighter position. The fire department has
approval and will pursue hiring the next firefighter.
Eligibility List
1. Firefighter Eligibility List will expire on 09/15/2019.
2. Fire Lieutenant Eligibility list scheduled to expire on 02/27/2020.
3. Police Officer Eligibility list Expires 02/21/2019
4. Police Sergeant Eligibility list scheduled to expire on 07/07/2018.
Adjournment
Commissioner Scholten motioned to end the Meeting. Commissioner Kontek seconded the
motion. The Meeting was adjourned at 2:50pm.
