HELD ON SEPTEMBER 18TH, 2018
Annroval of Minutes
Review of Minutes from August 14th, 2018 — The Minutes were approved.
Invoices for A112roval
Invoice from Dr. Friedman for (4) four psychological exams dated August 20th in the amount of
$2525.73
Invoice from John Kelly LTD for legal counsel dated August 31 st 2018 in the amount of $292.
Invoice from The Blue Line for police recruitment advertising dated September 6th, 2018 in the
amount of $496.
All Invoices were approved.
Correspondence
Correspondence from Chief Walsh regarding a written reprimand of a police officer dated
August 23, 2018.
Old Business
1. Update on the Police Department Vacancies — The Police hired 4 (four) PO's to send to the
September Academy. All subsequent positions will be filled from the new list projected to
be created in February.
2. Background Reviews — The commissioners discussed backgrounds for Fire Candidates.
3. Fire Department Vacancy — The commission has 2 (two) individual oral interviews
scheduled for firefighter.
4. Hearing for police Officer October 16 — The commission discussed the logistics for the
October 16th hearing. The meeting will be held in the council chambers at 7:00pm.
5. Police Written Exam November 18th — All arrangements were prepared for the Police
Written Exam. There will be 2 (two) commissioners present along with representatives
from the Police Department.
New Business
1. Final probationary reviews for 3 police officers — All of the PO's were released from their
probation.
2. Final probationary review for 1 firefighter — The FF was released from probation.
3. 6 month probationary review for firefighter — The FF is progressing well. FF was scheduled
for a final review in March.
Eligibility List
1. Firefighter Eligibility List will expire on 09/15/2019.
2. Fire Lieutenant Eligibility list scheduled to expire on 02/27/2020.
3. Police Officer Eligibility list Expires 02/21/2019
4. Police Sergeant Eligibility list scheduled to expire on 07/08/2021.
Adj ournmcnt
Commissioner Ehrke motioned to Adjourned the meeting. Commissioner Kontek seconded the
motion and the meeting was adjourned at 1:53pm.
The Commissioners then went into Executive Session.
