MINUTES OF BOARD MEETING
ELK GROVE FIREMEN'S PENSION FUND
2 FEBRUARY 1981
A meeting of the Firemen's Pension Fund was held on Monday 2 February 1981
in the basement of Headquarters Fire Station, 101 Biesterfield Road. The
meeting. was called to order by President Walter Kriesant at 7:32 pm.
ROLL CALL
On Roll Call the following members were present Walter Kriesant, Charles
Henrici, George C. Coney, Douglas C. Goostree and Joseph Gardner III.
MINUTES
Minutes of 18 August 1980 and 10 November 1980 meetings were read. Motion
by Charles Henrici seconded by C. Coney to accept as written. Motion passed
unanimously.
TREASURER'S REPORT
Motion to accept Treasurer's Report and place on file with Board Minutes by
J. Gardner III Seconded by D. Goostree. Motion passed unanimiously.
OLD BUSINESS
Motion to accept findings of Illinois Department of Insurance's Report of
Examination, 30 April 1980 as submitted and place on file made by G. 'Coney
seconded by D. Goostree. Motion passed unanimously.
Secretary was directed to respond in writing to Illinois Department of In-
surance stating the acceptance of the Departments findings in the report of
examinations and our accompliance with those findings which are as follows:
1.) The two firemen having less than 20 years service but more than 10
years service who resigned have signed an application form noting the
options available to them under the Governing Act and the option
selected. These have been placed in their respective files.
This application form was copied from the Illinois Department of Insur-
ance's Handbook for Trustees. It has been placed on file and will be
used.
2_) A refund was granted to Herman Marquard and sent to him Check #252,
$70.98, 23 September 1980. This was an underpayment due to him.
3.) Of 63 documents missing from membership files 32 have been received and
the remainder are in the process of being aquired.
4.) The checking account balances have been reduced and these funds invested.

President directed to write Village Attorney asking his written opinion concern-
ing differences between Fire Department members normally used name spellings
and the name spellings on birth certificates.

APPLICATION FOR MEMBERSHIP
Motion to accept seven (7) new members on Fire Department into Pension Fund
by Charles Henrici seconded by J. Gardner III. Motion passed unanimously.
They being as follows:
Johnson, James R. 3 November 1980
Reid, William M. 3 November 1980
Ogorek, Edward W. 3 November 1980
Krieger, Richard A. 3 November 1980
Hanselman, Fred R. 3 November 1980
Sterzel, Gary G. 3 November 1980
Graff, Karen A. 1 December 1980
Secretary informed Board all new members had supplied Secretary with Certified
copies of all documents required in their respective files.
NEW BUSINESS
President W. Kriesant raised question presented to him by a member of the
Elk Grove Fire Department as to creditable service during a disability. G.
Coney read Section 4-108 creditable service of Chapter 108% - Pension -
Article 4. Firemen's Pension Fund which is as follows:
4-108. CREDITABLE SERVICE: Creditable service is thetimeserved as a fireman
of a municipality. In computing creditable service, furloughs without
Pay exceeding 30 days in any 1 year shall not be counted, but leaves
of absence for illness or accident occuring to a fireman, regardless of
the length thereof, as well as periods of disability, retirement for
which a fireman has not received any disability pension payments under
this Article, shall be counted.
It was felt by the Board the above paragraph was very clear and concise as to
creditable service.
Motion Made to send copy of Board Miniutes to all Pension Board Members present
or not by C. Henrici seconded by G. Coney. Motion passed unanimously.
ADJOURNMENT
Motion by G. Coney, seconded by C. Henrici; the meeting was adjourned at 8:45 pm.
