HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCE - 2484 - 4/9/1996 - WASTEWATER USE AND SERVICE CHARGES•G• IZ: TURARAMMUM AN ORDINANCE AM MING TITLE 7, CHAPTER 2, SECTION 7-2-5-2, "WASTEWATER USE AND SERVICE CHARGES" OF THE VILLAGE CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois as follows: Section 1: That Section 7-2-5-2A3, "Rates and Charges Established" be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: 7-2-5-2A3a Basic User Rate: There is hereby established a basic user rate for the use of and for service supplied by the wastewater facilities of the Village of Elk Grove Village and, where applicable, the Village of Bensenville and the City of Wood Dale. A basic user rate shall be applied to all users of Elk Grove Village wastewater facilities as follows: May, 1996 $.39 per 1,000 gallons of water metered May, 1997 $.42 per 1,000 gallons of water metered May, 1998 $.45 per 1,000 gallons of water metered In addition, users of the Village of Bensenville wastewater facilities shall pay a capital expenditure reimbursement charge as established from time to tune for Elk Grove Village's share of capital improvements to Bensenville's wastewater system based on Elk Grove Village's proportionate share of these expenditures as charged by Bensenville, as well as a rate as established fron time to time by the Village of Bensenville, which may include a basic user rate, a debt service charge and/or a surcharge rate. 7-2-5-2A3b Nonmetered Users: All nonmetered Village users of the wastewater facilities shall pay a flat rate charge per month to cover the charges established by the Village. The flat rate shall be based on a minimum charge at the following rates: May, 1996 $.39 per 1,000 gallons of water metered May, 1997 $.42 per 1,000 gallons of water metered May, 1998 $.45 per 1,000 gallons of water metered The flat rate charge, computed at the sewer rate in effect at the time, will allow a maximum of the following nuTber of gallons per month for a user who would otherwise have a water meter of the following size: 5/8"-3/4" 8,670 1" 20,613 1 1/2" 61,883 2"-3" 193,831 4"-6" 657,061 In the event use of the wastewater facilities is determined by the Village to be in excess of the above number of gallons per month for a given water meter size, the Village may require such flat rate user to install (at his expense) approved metering devices on the water supply or customer sewer service line to measure the amount of service supplied. Section 2: That the Village Clerk is hereby authorized to publish this ordinance in pamphlet form. Section 3: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect commencing with the period incorporated into the Village's water and sewer billing after May 1, 1996, which date is subsequent to its passage, approval, and publication according to law.
