AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 8-4-3-2 (SIGNS IN THE B-1, B-2
AND B-3 BUSINESS DISTRICTS) BY ADDING REGULATIONS FOR REAL
ESTATE AND LEASING INFORMATION FOR SHOPPING CENTERS
BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois
as follows:
Section 1: That Section 8-4-3-2 pertaining to signs in the
B-1, B-2 and B-3 Business Districts be and the same is hereby amended
by adding thereto the following:
K. For Sale, Rent or Lease Signs (Shopping Centers):
1. Temporary free-standing real estate/lease signs
provided that the combined area of the signs
shall not exceed forty-five (45) square feet
and further provided that said signs shall be
removed within one (1) year of occupancy of
the first unit or within seven (7) days of the
final occupancy for all units (100% occupancy),
whichever first occurs.
2. Real estate or leasing information may be dis-
played on the main shopping center identification
sign if the total area of such information does
not exceed 25% of the sign display area.
3. Temporary leasing information signs may be lo-
cated on the windows inside the buildings if
the signs do not exceed 50% of the window area.
Each glazed area shall be considered a separate
window area.
Section 2: That Section 8-4-3-2 J. of the Village Code be
amended by changing the title to read as follows:
J. For Sale, Rent or Lease Signs (other than shopping
centers):
Section 3: That the Village Clerk is hereby authorized to
publish this Ordinance in pamphlet form.
Section 4: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage, approval and publication ac-
cording to law.
