AN ORDINANCE REZONING PROPERTY LOCATED AT THE NORTHEAST
CORNER OF HIGGINS AND ARLINGTON HEIGHTS ROADS AND GRANTING A
VARIATION OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE TO PERMIT CERTAIN FRONT YARD
SETBACK ENCROACHMENTS (MOBIL OIL CORPORATION)
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission and the Zoning Board of Appeals of the Village of
Elk Grove Village, at a joint meeting, duly called and held according to law, considered the ques-
tion of rezoning a parcel of property from the B-1 Business District to the B-3 Automotive Busi-
ness District and granting a variation for said property to permit a convenient store and a canopy
to encroach ten (10') feet and five (5') feet respectively into the twenty-five (25') foot setback on
property located at the Northeast corner of Higgins and Arlington Heights Roads; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees after having considered the recommen-
dation and finding of said Plan Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals find and believe that it
is in the best interest of the Village that said property be rezoned and a variation granted thereto.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of
the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois as follows:
Section 1: That the parcel of property located at the Northeast corner of Higgins and
Arlington Heights Roads, which property is legally described on Exhibit A, attached hereto, be
rezoned from the B-1 Business District to the B-3 Automotive Business District.
Section 2: That there be granted a variation of the Zoning Ordinance of the Village as it
pertains to the twenty-five (25') foot front yard setback requirement to permit the construction of
a store and gas pump canopy which will encroach ten (10') feet and five (5') feet respectively into
said twenty-five (25') foot front yard setback.
Section 3: That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to amend the Zoning Map of the
Village to reflect the rezoning as set forth in this Ordinance.
Section 4: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage
and approval according to law.
