ORDINANCE NO. 1284
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS
23.902 AND 23.903 OF ARTICLE 9
(FIRE LANES) OF THE MUNICIPAL
CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF
ELK GROVE VILLAGE
WHEREAS, the owners of Roundtree Commons and Boardwalk Condominiums
have requested of the Village in writing that certain areas within
their respective development be designated as fire lanes, a copy
of said requests being attached hereto and incorporated herein as
Exhibit A of this Ordinance; and
WHEREAS, it was further requested by said owners that the
Elk Grove Village Police Department be granted the authority to
enforce any ordinance prohibiting parking on said designated fire
lanes;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and
Du Page, Illinois, as follows:
Section 1: That Section 23.902 of the Municipal Code of the
Village of Elk Grove Village be and the same is hereby amended to
read as follows:
23.902. Posting of Signs. Fire lanes designated herein
shall be posted with signs approved by the Chief of the
Fire Department and shall be purchased, installed and
maintained by the owners of the property where said signs
are located.
Section 2: That Section 23.903 of the Municipal Code of the
Village of Elk Grove Village, which Section provides for certain
areas located in the Village to be designated "fire lanes", and
making it unlawful for any person to block or obstruct, wholly or
partly any such designated area, be amended by adding thereto the
following:
P. Roundtree Commons.
All areas designated as fire lanes on a map entitled
Roundtree Commons, which map is incorporated by reference
as a part of Ordinance No. 1284
Q. Boardwalk Condominiums.
All areas designated as fire lanes on a map entitled
Boardwalk Condominiums, which map is incorporated by
reference as a part of Ordinance No. 1284
Section 3: That the map entitled "Roundtree Commons" and
"Boardwalk Condominiums" with designations thereon listing fire lanes,
which maps are attached hereto as Exhibits B and C, respectively, be
and the same are hereby incorporated into this Ordinance.
Section 4: That any person, firm or corporation violating any
of the provisions of this Ordinance shall be subject to a fine of not
less than Five ($5.00) Dollars, nor more than Two Hundred ($200.00)
Dollars for each offense.
Section 5: That the Village Clerk is hereby authorized to
publish this Ordinance in pamphlet form.
Section G: That the owners of the Roundtree Commons and
Boardwalk Condominiums Development are hereby authorized to post
all areas as fire lanes subject to the approval of the Chief of the
Fire Department of the Village of Elk Grove Village.
Section 7: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage, approval and publication according
to law.
