HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCE - 1288 - 3/13/1979 - VILLAGE ELECTIONS OF OFFICERSORDINANCE NO. 1288 AN ORDINANCE CALLING FOR A REGULAR ELECTION OF OFFICERS OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE ON TUESDAY APRIL 17, 1979 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois. Section 1. That there shall be a regular election of officers of the Village of Elk Grove Village on Tuesday, April 17, 1979• Section 2. That at said election there shall be elected: A Village Clerk, for a two year term. 3 Village Trustees, each for a four year term. 2 Library Directors, each for a six year term. 1 Library Director, for a two year term. Section 3. That the ballots to be used in said election shall be in the form prescribed by statue, and it shall be the duty of the Deputy Village Clerk to see to the preparation of sufficient ballots for the election and to cause samples of said ballots to be published prior to the day of the election in the Elk Grove Herald, a newspaper of general circulation published in said Village, and to cause to be provided the necessary election supplies. Section 4. That at least fifteen days but not more than thirty days prior to the election, the Deputy Village Clerk shall cause to be published in the Elk Grove Herald a notice of election which shall be substantially as follows: SEE ATTACHED - NOTICE OF ELECTION Section 5• That the precinct or voting districts for said election and the polling places shall be those designated in the preceding section. Section 6. That the Judges of Election shall be appointed by the President with the approval of the Board of Trustees in the manner provided by law. Section 7. That said election and matters pertaining thereto shall be conducted in the manner prescribed by the Statutes of the State of Illinois. Section 8. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval according to law. PASSED this 13th day of March , 1979. APPROVED this 13th day of March , 1979. NOTICE OF ELECTION On the 17th day of April, 1979, there will be held a regular election of the Village of Elk Grove Village to elect a Village Clerk for a two year term; three Village Trustees, each for a four year term; two Library Directors, each for a six year term, and one Library Director for a two year term. The polls shall be open between the hours of 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. on said date of election. The precincts and polling places for such election shall be as follows: ELECTION PRECINCT NUMBER 1 All that area in the Village of Elk Grove Village, lying north of the center line of Oakton Street and east of Arlington Heights Road. Polling Place, 9 Ridgewood Road, Residence, Village of Elk Grove Village, Illinois. ELECTION PRECINCT NUMBER 2 All that area of the Village of Elk Grove Village lying south of the center line of Oakton Street and east of a line described as follows: Commencing at the center line of Oakton Street and Arlington Heights Road, preceding along the center line of Arlington Heights Road southwesterly to the center line of Landmeier Road; thence preceding eastwardly along the center line of Land- meier Road to the center line of Tonne Road; thence preceding southwardly along the center line of Tonne Road to the center line of Devon Avenue, and all that part of the Village lying south of the center line of Devon Avenue and north of the center line of Devon Avenue, and south of the center line of Oakton Street. Polling Place, Ira L. Rupley School, 305 Oakton Street, Village of Elk Grove Village, Illinois. ELECTION PRECINCT NUMBER 3 All that part of the Village of Elk Grove Village lying within an area defined by a line which commences at a point at the intersection of the center line of Arlington Heights Road and Salt Creek, thence northeasterly along the center line of Arlington Heights Road to its intersection with the center line of Landmeier Road, thence eastwardly along the center line of Landmeier Road to the center line of Tonne Road, thence southwardly along the center line of Tonne Road to the center line of Elk Grove Boulevard, thence westwardly along the center line of Elk Grove Boulevard to the center line of Ridge Avenue, thence southwardly along the center line of Ridge Avenue to the north line of Brookhaven Drive, thence westwardly along the line of Brookhaven Drive to Cypress Lane and continuing along the north extension of Brookhaven Drive to Salt Creek, thence northwardly along Salt Creek to the place of beginning; said precinct to also include that property on the north side of Arlington Heights Road commonly knows as 450 S. Arlington Heights Road. Polling place, Ridge Elementary School, 650 Ridge Avenue, Village of Elk Grove Village, Illinois. - 2 - ELECTION PRECINCT NUMBER 4 All that area of the Village of Elk Grove Village lying within an area defined by a line which' commences at a point at the intersection of the center lines of Elk Grove Boulevard and Ridge Avenue, thence eastwardly along the center line of Elk Grove Boulevard to the center line of Tonne Road, thence southwardly along the center line of Tonne Road to the center line of Clearmont Drive, thence westwardly along the center line of Clearmont Drive to the Center line of Maple Lane, thence southwardly along the center line of Maple Lane to the center line of Pinewood Drive, thence westwardly along the center line of Pinewood Drive to the center line of Aspen Lane, thence northwardly along the center line of Aspen Lane to the center line of Clearmont Drive, thence westerly along the center line of Clearmont Drive to the center line of Ridge Avenue, thence northwardly along the center line of Ridge Avenue to the center line of Elk Grove Boulevard to the place of beginning. Polling place, Grant Wood Elementary School, 225 E. Elk Grove Boulevard, Village of Elk Grove Village, Illinois ELECTION PRECINCT NUMBER 5 All that area of the Village of Elk Grove Village lying within an area defined by a line commencing at Salt Creek and the north line of Brookhaven Drive as extended, thence continuing eastwardly along the north line of Brookhaven Drive to the center line of Ridge Avenue, thence southwardly along the center line of Ridge Avenue to the center line of Clearmont Drive, thence eastwardly along the center line of Clearmont Drive to the center line of Aspen Lane, thence south- wardly along the center line of Aspen Lane to the center line of Pinewood Drive, thence eastwardly along the center line of Pinewood Drive to the center line of Maple Lane, thence northwardly along the center line of Maple Lane to the center line of Clearmont Drive, thence eastwardly along the center line of Clearmont Drive to the center line of Tonne Road, thence southwardly along the center line of Tonne Road to Devon Avenue, thence westwardly along the Elk Grove Village limits to Salt Creek, thence northwardly along Salt Creek to the point of beginning. Polling place, Clearmont Elementary School, 280 Clearmont Drive, Village of Elk Grove Village, Illinois. ELECTION PRECINCT NUMBER 6 All that area of the Village of Elk Grove Village lying west of Salt Creek and east of Arlington Heights Road. Polling place, Salt Creek Elementary School, 65 John F. Kennedy Boulevard, Village of Elk Grove Village, Illinois. ELECTION PRECINCT NUMBER 7 All that area of the Village of Elk Grove Village lying south of Biesterfield Road, west of Arlington Heights Road, north of Devon Avenue, and east of Rohlwing Road. Polling place, Admiral Richard E. Byrd School, 265 Wellington Avenue, Village of Elk Grove Village, Illinois. - 3 - ELECTION PRECINCT NUMBER 8 All that area of the Village of Elk Grove Village lying west of Arlington Heights Road, east of Route 53 (Rohlwing Road), north of Biesterfield Road and south of Cosman Road. Polling Place, Patricia Marshall School, 711 Chelmsford Lane, Village of Elk Grove Village, Illinois. ELECTION PRECINCT NUMBER 9 All that area of the Village of Elk Grove Village lying west of Route 53 (Rohlwing Road), east of Plum Grove Road, and north of Nerge Road. Polling place, Adolph Link School, 900 South West Glenn Trail, Village of Elk Grove Village, Illinois. ELECTION PRECINCT NUMBER 10 All that area west of Route 53 (Rohlwing Road), south of Nerge Road, north of Devon Avenue and east of Plum Grove Road. Polling place, Adlai E. Stevenson School, 1414 Armstrong Lane, Village of Elk Grove Village, Illinois.
