AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 15.003, FEES,
OF CHAPTER 15, VEHICLE LICENSES, OF THE
MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE
VILLAGE
BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village
of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois, as follows:
Section 1: That the following paragraph of Section 15.003 of the
Municipal Code:
An additional fee of 50% of the cost of the
sticker shall be paid when the application for licenses
is not made until after February 15 of any year. Except
this penalty shall not apply to those applicants who
become residents of this Village after February 15 of
the year in which the application is submitted, or where
the application is made for a license for a newly acquired
vehicle,
be amended by adding thereto the following:
Furthermore, the penalty shall not apply where the
owner submits a sworn affidavit, properly notarized, stating
that the vehicle was not in use from the first day of January
of each licensing year up to the date the application is
being made and can substantiate said affidavit to the
satisfaction of the Village Clerk.
Section 2: Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the
provisions of this Ordinance shall be subject to a fine of not less than
$10.00 nor more than $500.00 for each offense.
Section 3: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage, approval and publication according to law.
