AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING: WATER SPRINKLING RESTRICTIONS IN
THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE AMENDING SECTIONS 22A.701
AND 22A.702 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK
GROVE VILLAGE.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of
the Village of Elk Grove Village, Cook and DuPage Counties, Illinois:
Section 1. That Sections 22A.701 and 22A.702 of the Municipal Code of
the Village of Elk Grove Village be and is hereby amended to read as follows:
"22A.701 amended Water Sprinkling Restrictions. All persons who reside
or occupy premises in the Village shall not sprinkle lawns or shrubbery
with water distributed by the Village except as follows:
1. Upon application to the Department of Public Works property
owners may obtain a special permit to sprinkle new lawns for
a five (5) day period not to exceed five (5) hours per day.
2. On Saturdays between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
22A.702 amended Penalty. Any person, firm or corporation who sprinkles
water or consents to the sprinkling of water on lawns or shrubbery other
than as provided for above shall be fined not less than $10.00 nor more
than $200.00. A separate offense shall be deemed committed on each day
during, or on which a violation occurs or continues. Any person, firm
or corporation who shall persist in violating the provisions of this
ordinance after a warning shall be subject to having his or its water
service terminated for a period not to exceed twenty-four (24) hours."
Section 2. This ordinance shall have effect and become immediately
effective as an emergency measure.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage, approval and publication according to law as above provided.
