AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING VILLAGE POLICY
CONCERNING ANNEXATION AND/OR RE -ZONING AS
IT RELATES TO TIIE ELK GROVE VILLAGE WATER
SYSTEM
WHEREAS, the Village of Elk Grove Village has experienced serious
water problems with respect to low pressure that has existed and
presently exists in its water supply system; and
WHEREAS, the Village has caused studies to be made concerning its
water supply by consulting engineers and it has been determined that
there exists a need for additional water supply capacities; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to conduct an investigation with respect to
future requests for rezoning and/or annexation, and make a determination
as to the proposed water consumption which may result from rezoning
and/or annexation and the then existing capability of the water system
to furnish same; and
WHEREAS, there exists the need to regulate and control the occupancy
of buildings until such time as additional water producing capacities
are developed;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and
Du Page, Illinois, as follows:
Section 1: That future annexation and/or rezoning by the Village
of Elk Grove Village will be curtailed if such annexation and/or rezoning
will have a deleterious effect on the water supply system of the Village
and that the President and Board of Trustees shall have and retain the
right to regulate, control and condition annexation and/or rezoning and
building occupancy relating thereto, based on the capacity of the water
system to adequately and safely provide for same.
Section 2: That this Ordinance shall supercede any and all previous
action and be in full force and effect from and after its passage
an& approval according to law.
