AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE MUNICIPAL CODE RELATIVE TO
MASSAGE PARLORS
NOW, THEREFORE, BE 1T ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of
the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois, as
follows:
Section 1: That the Municipal Code of the Village of Elk Grove Village
be and is hereby amended by adding thereto the following:
Chapter 24F101 - Massage Parlors) Massage salon, bath parlor, or any
similar type business where any physical contact with the recipient of
such services is provided by a person of the opposite sex is hereby
prohibited. This section shall not apply to a physician, surgeon,
chiropractor, osteopath or physical therapist duly licensed by the State
of Illinois, or to a licensed nurse acting under the direct prescription
and direction of any such physician, surgeon, chiropractor or osteopath.
Also, this section shall not apply to barber shops or beauty parlors in
which massage is given to the scalp, the face, the neck or the shoulders
Chapter 24F.102 Penalty) Any person, firm or corporation violating
provisions of this article shall be fined not less than $50.00 nor more
than $500.00 for each offense.
Section 2: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage, approval and publication according to law.
