AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER VI, FIRE DEPARTMENT
AND CODE BY ADDING THERETO A NEW ARTICLE PROVIDING
FOR FIRE AND AMBULANCE SERVICE TO AREAS OUTSIDE
THE VILLAGE LIMITS AND PROVIDING FOR RATES THEREFORE
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, BY the President and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and
DuPage, as follows:
Section 1: That Chapter 6, Fire Department and Code be
amended by adding thereto the following:
Article IV - Fire and Ambulance service outside the Village limits.
6.401 - Territory and Rates. The Village shall hereby provide
fire and ambulance service to those areas included in Exhibit
A of Ordinance No. 9n8 , according to those rates herein-
after provided:
A. Non -Contract per -call rate.
The following rates shall be charged to those individuals,
firms or corporations who have not previously contracted
for fire and ambulance service:
Ambulance - $50.00 per call
Vehicles containing fire fighting
apparatus, exclusive of automobiles -
$100.00 per vehicle per call
B. Trailer Homes - The rate for fire and ambulance service
to trailer homes shall be $15.00 per trailer per year. The
above amount shall be increased annually in the amount of
$1.00 per year, commencing November 1, 1974. The above
rates are only applicable where the individual owner or the
association for the owner has contracted for such service.
C. Home Owner Associations and Fire District Areas
Contract Basis. The rate for fire and ambulance service
for home owner associations and fire district areas shall
be $42.00 per year, per home.
D. Ind4vidual Homeowners - Contract Basis - The rate for
individual homeowners for fire and ambulance service shall
be $42.00 per year.
E. All Services provided under paragraphs B, C, and D
above must be contracted for 24 hours prior to the customers
call for such service otherwise paragraph A shall apply.
6.402 Payment. Fees. All fees for non -contract fire service
shall be paid within ten (10) days from the receipt of the bill
for same. Fees for contracts to Homeowners Associations of
Fire District Areas shall be payable semi-annually at due dates
as agreed upon by the Village Manager and the individual
district or association. Fees for fire and ambulance contracts
to individual homeowners shall be paid fully in advance of the
contract date.
6.403 This article shall not apply to those areas in which
mutual aid fire agreements are in effect.
6.404 All rules, requirements, conditions and terms
presently in force relating to fire service within the
Village, contained in Article I, 11 and III of Chapter VI
of the Municipal Code of the Village of Elk Grove Village,
shall be in full force and effect in those areas outside
the Village limits under the provisions of this article.
Section 2: That attached hereto and incorporated in this
ordinance as Exhibit A is a list of all areas without the Village
limits for which fire and ambulance service is to be provided.
Section 3: That this ordinance shall be in full force and
effect upon passage and approval, according to law.
