AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING SALARIES FOR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT
OF THE VILLAGE OF ELIC GROVE VILLAGE
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage,
Illinois:
Section 1. That the .salaries for Fire Captains, Fire
Lieutenants, Fire Engineers and Firemen of the Fire Depart-
ment of the Village of Elk Grove Village shall be and are
hereby established as follows:

Reference to "Length of Service" .is applicable only to Fireman.
No person presently employed shall receive two (2) experience pay increases
within one rank in any twelve (12) month period except upon specific
authorization by the President and Board of Trustees.
Section 2. A new fireman may be hired in pay step B if he
has two (2) or more years of prior fire, or equivalent,
experience and only .in .instances when, in the judgment of
the Fire and Police Commission, a candidate is exceptionally
well qualified.
Section 3. Within ten (10) days from passage of this
Ordinance, or at the time of hiring a new fireman, the
Fire and Police Commission of the Village shall ascertain
and verify a fireman's prior experience, if any. Experience
shall be computed to the nearest month. Periods of fifteen
(15) days or less shall be disregarded. Periods of more
than fifteen (15) days shall be cornuted as a full i:ionth's
experience. Upon ascartainment of a fire -can's experience,
the Secretary of the Fire and Police Commission shall
transmit to the Village Treasurer the following information:
A. Nance of the firoman.
B. Effective date of er.nlo;rnent with the Village
of _Elk Grove Pillage Fire Departr+ont.
C. Salary anniversary date.
Duplicate coi;les of the fore;ioiao shall be sent to the Fire

Section 5. TLi.s Ordironce shall be in full effect and
