AN CRDINANCE RELATING TO THE FIRE DEPARTMENT AND THE
APPOINTMENT OF THE CHIEF AND MEMBERS THEREOF
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board
of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of
Cook and DuPage, Illinois:
Section 1. That Section 6.001 of the Municipal Code of Elk
Grove age a and is hereby amended to read as follows:
"6.001 Establishment. There is hereby created and established
a fire departmentconsisting of a chief, and such members
as may be appointed from time to time by the Fire and Police
Commission of the Village. The Fire Chief shall be appointed
by the President with the advise and consent of the Board
of Trustees."
Section 2. That Section 7.502 of the Municipal Code of the
Village— i t�'�'rove Village be and is hereby amended to read as
follows:
"7.502 Duties. The Board of Fire and Police Commissioners
shall Ea—v—e--eTiarge of all appointments to the Fire and Police
Departments except the appointments of the Chief of the Fire
and Police Departments and shall conduct and hold all entrance
and promotional examinations in the manner required by law."
Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and a ter its pass$ge and ap roval according to law.
