AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CERTAIN SECTIONS OF THE MUNICIPAL
CODE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE, CHANGING THE STATUS OF CERTAIN
PERSONS FROM THAT OF OFFICER TO THAT OF EMPLOYEE AND
MAKING „QTAFiR CHANGES,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Basrd of Trustees
of the Village •f Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and Du Page, Illinois:
Section 1. That the first paragraph of Section 9.102 of the Municipal
Code of the Village of Elk Grove Village be and is hereby amended to read as
follows:
119.102 Appointments.) All officers other than elective officers
and the chiefs of the Fire and police departments, and the
treasurer shall be appointed by the village president by and
with the consent and advice of the board of trustees, as is
provided by statute; provided that all employees shall, in
the absence of any provision to the contrary, be hired by and
shall report to the Village Manager".
Section 2. That Section 4.301 of the Municipal Code of the Village of
Elk Grove Village be and is hereby amended to read as follows:
"4.301 Office Created.) There is hereby created the position of
Health Inspector, an employee of the Village. He shall be hired
by and report to the Village Manager."
Seotion 3. That Paragraph 2 of Section 4.302 of the Municipal Code
of the Village of Elk Grove Village be and is hereby amended tr, read as follows:
"The Health Inspector shall enforce all rules and orders of the
Board of Health and shall attend all meetings of said board when
requested to so do by the presiding officer."
Section 4. Article IV Chapter 4 of the Municipal Code of the Village
of Elk Grove Village is hereby amended to read as follows:
" Article IV. Foreman of Public Works.
4.401 Office Created.) There is hereby created the position of
Foreman of Public Works. Said foreman of public works shall be
hired by and report to the Village Manager."
"4.402 Duties.) The duties of the Foreman of Public works shall
be that of a working supervisor over all public works and property.
He shall be subject to the authority of the Village Manager."
"4.403 Employees.) All employees assigned to the Department of
Public Works shall perform their duties subject to the orders
and under the supervision of the Foreman ofPubl,ic Works."
Section 5. That Section 4,601 of the Municipal Code of the Village
of Elk Grove Village is hereby amended to read as follows:
114.601 Appointment.) There is hereby created the position of
Chief Electrical Inspectors an employee of the Village, who
shall be the head of the Electrical Department and the chairman
of the Electrical Commission) Said Chief Electrical Inspector
shall be hired by and report to the Village Manager, IId�o person
shall be eligible to hold the position of Chief Electrldel
Inspector unless he is possessed of electrical training in
electrical engineering or practical experience as a cohatrdction
eledtrician.1'

Section 7. That Section 4.912 of the Munidipal Code of the Viilage
of Elk Grove Village be and is hereby amended to read as follows!
"4.912. Duties) The Superintendent of the Water and Sewer
Department shall be responsible for the operation and maintenance
of the water and sewer properties of the village and shall
supervise personnel necessary in the operating and maintaining
of same. He shall have such further duties as may be delegated
to him by the Village Manager."
Section 8. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage and approval according to law.
