AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 5, POLICE DEPARTNE;NT,
SECTION 5.001 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE VILLAGE
OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 5.001 of the Municipal Code
of the Village of Elk Grove Village the President and Board of
Trustees shall designate the number of officers and members of the
Police Department of the Village of Elk Grove Village; and
WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the President and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village that a new ordinance
be adopted establishing as of the date of the adoption of this
ordinance the number of officers and members of the Police Depart-
ment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and
DuPage, State of Illinois.
Section 1. That Section 5.001 of the Municipal Code of the
Village--of-7 krove Village be amended to read as follows:
115:J,r71,'1,There is hereby created a Police Department, an executive
" department of the Village. The Police Department shall
consist of the Chief of Police who shall besuperintendent
of police,.., four Sergeants,
and ten Patrolmen and sucn other memoers as may be
provided for from time to time by the President and Board
of Trustees."
Section 2. This ordinance shall be in full force ar.d effect
upon its passage and approval according to law.
