SYSTEMORDINANCE NO. 162 AN ORDINA14CE PROVIDING FOR A SPECIAL ELECTION FOR A RECREATION PROGRAM FOR THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE WHEREAS, at least ten percent of the electors of the Village of Elk Grove Village have filed with the Village Clerk a petition requesting that the Village of Elk Grove Village establish, maintain and conduct a supervised playground and recreation system for a period of two years com— mencing April 18, 1961 and ending April 18, 1963, provided no special tax shall be levied for said purpose; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by tkn President and the Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Cook County, Illinois: Section 1 That a special election shall be held on Tuesday, April 18, T9blT"FeTween the hours of 6:00 o'clock a.m. and 6:CO p.m. Central Standard Time, and simultaneously with the general election to be held on said date, on thefollowing question: "Shall the Village of Elk Grove Village establish, maintain and conduct a supervised playground and recreation system for a period of two years commencing April 18, 1961, and ending April 18, 19630 provided no special tax shall be levied for said purpose?" Section 2 For the purpose of said election the Village of Elk Grove Village shall be divided into three election precincts; that the pre— cincts and polling places shall be the same as those set forth in Ordinance No. 161; that the judges of election shall be the same persons as have been designated as judges of election by the President and Doard of Trustees in Ordinance No. 161. Section 3 That the Village Clerk is hereby ordered and directed to cause notice of said election to be given by publishing notice thereof once in the Elk Grove Herald, a newspaper of general circulation published within the Village of Elk Grove Village, and by posting notice thereof in at least three prominent places in each election precinct; said publication and posting shall be not more than thirty nor less than fifteen days prior to Tuesday.. April 18, 1961. Section 4 The ballot to be used at said election shall be in sub— stantially the following form: (Face of Ballot) OFFICIAL BALLOT Question to authorize a playground and recreation system for a period of two (2) years without a special t<x. (facsimile signature) Village Clerk —1— #162 Section 5 The Village Clerk is hereby directed to procure the necessary election supplies and ballots and to cause a sample of said ballot to be published prior to the day of the election in the Elk Grove Herald, a newspaper of general circulation published within the Village of Elk Grove Village. Section 6 This ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its passage anti approval according tc law. PASSED this 13th day of March, 1961.
