HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCE - 166 - 4/10/1961 - POLICE DEPT/SALARIESORDINANCE M166 AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING SALARIES FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT AND AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 109 BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Cook County, Illiroi'9: Section 1: That the starting salaries for policemen of the Village of Elk Grove Village Police Department be and are hereby established as follows: $4,800 per annum - for a person appointed a policeman having no police experience, or up to one (1) year police experience. $5,100 per annum - for a person appo rimed. a policeman having up to two (2) years police experience. $5;400 per annum - for a person appointed a policeman having more than two (2) years police experience. Section 2: That the salaries above set "orth shall be increased during the first year as follows: $5P400 per annum - to a policeman at the end of six (6) months of service in the department who has had two (2) years or more police experience. $5,700 per annum - to a policeman who has had service in the department for six (6) months and is hired permanently. $6,000 per annum - to a policeman after he has served one (1) year or more in the department. Section 3: That the salaries of the policemen of the Village of Elk Grove Village who have obtained the ranks indicated below are hereby established as follows: Rank Salary per Annum Sergeant 1y6,240 Lieutenant 7;200 Captain 8,400 Said salaries to be effective as of the date ', policeman obtains the rank indicated above. Section 4: That the salaries of the policemen of the Village of Elk Grove Village who have obtained the ranks indicated below shall be increased as follows: Rank Increase Sergeant $120 per annum for each year of ser -,rice in the rank indicated. However, the salary paid shall not excee•1 $6,600 per annum. Lieutenant $200 per annum for each year of service in the rank indicated, However, the salary paid shall not exceed $7,800 per annum. Said increases to be effective annually from the date the policeman obtained the rank indicated above. Section 5: That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval according to law. PASSED this 1Cth day of April, 1961.
