Chapter 22 of the 1,1unicipal Code of Elk Grove Village of 1961 be amended and supplemented by adding the following article and sections which shall read as follows: XIV REAL ESTATE. BROKERS Section 22.1401 LICENSE REQUIRED. No person, firm or corporation shall operate as a broker of real estate without having first obtained a license as is herein provided. Provided that this article shall not be construed to require an additional broker's license from employees of a licensed broker. Section 22.1402 APPLICATIONS. Applications for real estate broker's license shall be made in writing to the Village Clerk. No such license shall be issued to a person who is not a person of good character, and it shall be the duty of the Clerk to make or cause to be made an investigation into the character of such applicant. Section 22.1403 FEE. The annual fee for a real estate broker's license shall be thirty dollars and no license shall be issued except upon payment of the fee. Section 22.1404 FRAUD. It shall be unlawful for any person operating as a real estate broker to practice fraud or deception of any sort or to make false pretenses of any kind, or to represent both parties to a transaction without the consent and knowledge of both parties. Section 22.11105 PE11kLa . Any person licensed under the provisions of this article who is guilty of a violation of any provision of this article shall be fined not less than five nor more than one hundred dollars for each offense; and a separate offense shall be deemed committed on each day during or on which a violation occurs or continues; and upon a second offense being committed the President and Board of Trustees may revoke the license of such person. SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon the passage, approval and publication according to law. PASSED and APPROVED this 24th day of July, 1961. Attest: s/ Eleanor G.
