AN ORDINANCE pertaining tc construc-
tion of _public; improvexmezts by private
contract.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE, COOK COUNTY. ILLINOIS:
SECTION 1. That no street, sidewalk„ water main, sewer, lighting
system, or any other public improvement on public property or on property
intended to be dedicated for public use, shall hereafter be zonstructed in
the Village of Elk Grove Villags by private contract until a permit therefor
shall have been obtained.
SECTION 2. That no improvements shall be constructed which do
not conform with the requirements set forth in the Village Plan of the Village:
of Elk Grove Village as adopted; and all such plans and specifications shall
be prepared by or under the direction of the Village Engineers and all such
work shall be done under the supervision of said Village Engineers. In any
case where plans and specifications shall be prepared by an engineer ether
than the Village Engineers, then in that event, such plans and specifications
shall be reviewed by the Village Engineers, and the person submitting said
plans shall pay to the Village, in addition to the permit fee hereinafter set
forth, a sum equal to One per cent ( 1%) of the cotimated cost of such improve-
ments as costs for reviewing said plans and specifications.
SECTION 3. The permit fee as required by this Ordinance shall b4�
one-half of one per cent "1126jo) of the ez; ionated cost of construction.

shall also give bond conditioned that he or 1,he,y= will suitably gea C,. and pro-
tect any excavation or obstruction and defend, save. keep harmless and in-
demnify the Village of Elk Grove Village of and from any and all action,.
suits, costs, damages and expenses whatsoever, including Attorney's fees
which shall or may at any time happen to come to it for or on account of an;r
injuries or damages received or sustained by any part or partier> by or from
acts or omissions of the applicant or his or their services in doing such work;
and that he or they will restore such streets, sidewalks or public property
to its former condition and to complete such work as quickly as possibly: and
when completed to notify the Village Engineers of such fact; and guaranteeing
that such work so made in the public streets, sidewaiks and public properties
and in properties to be dedicated for such public use, is shade and constructer".

for a period of at least two (2) years from the time of the approval of such
work as herein mentions&
SECTION 5. Any person., firm or corporation violating any of the
provisions of this ordinance shall upon conviction thereof, be fined not more
than Two Hundred ($200, 00) Dollars for each and every offense.
SECTION 6. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage, approval and publication according to law.
