AN ORDINANCE amending the Village
of Elk Grove Village Zoning Ordinance.
WHEREAS, the Zoning Board of Appeals of the Village of Elk Grove Village,
sitting as a commission, at a public meeting duly called and held according to
law considered the question of amending sub -section (f) of Section 1 of ARTICLE
XV; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees, having considered the re-
commendation of said Zoning Board of Appeals find and believe that the public
welfare and interest will be best served by such amendment;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of
the Village of Elk Grove Village, Cook County, Illinois:
Section 1. That sub -section (f) of Section 1 of Article XV of an Ordinance
entitled "An Ordinance to regulate, and limit the height and bulk of buildings;
to regulate and limit the intensity of the use of lot areas, and to regulate and
determine the areas of open spaces within and surrounding such buildings; to
classify, regulate and restrict the location of trades and industries and the
location of buildings designed for specified industrial, business, residential
and other uses; to divide the entire Village of Elk Grove Village into districts
for the purpose of this ordinance; to fix standards to which buildings or structures
shall conform; to prohibit uses, buildings or structures incompatible with the
character of such districts respectively; and to prevent additions to and alterations
or remodeling of existing buildings or structures in such a way as to avoid the
restrictions and limitations lawfully imposed hereunder, and to provide penalties
for violation hereof" passed and approved July 8, 1957, known as Ordinance No. 20,
as amended, is hereby further amended to read as follows:
(f) Fences, regardless of material used may be erected to a
height of four (4) feet along the boundaries of a lot except
that no such fence shall be erected within twenty-five (25)
feet of a street intersection; provided, however, that a
fence may be constructed to a height not exceeding six (6)
feet with the consents of the adjoining owners and the
Building Department. Fences in the Business and Industrial
Districts shall be in accordance with the provisions of the
Village Building Code and particularly Section 400 thereof
relating to restrictions and construction within the fire
limits.
Section 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its passage,
approval and publication according to law.
