AN ORDINANCE to annex part of
Laurel Street dedicated for street
Purposes.
WHEREAS, it is provided by Section 7-8 of Article 7 to the
Cities and Villages Act that any municipality by ordinance may annex
any territory contiguous to it even though the annexed territory is
dedicated or used for street or highway purposes if no part of the
annexed territory is within nny other municipality; and
WHEREAS, the territory known as all that part of laurel Street;
as dedicated in Branigar's Forest View Homesites, a subdivision of
part of Section 28, Township 41 North, Range 11,, East of the Third
Principal Meridian, lying between the West line of Lot 139, extended
South in said subdivision and the East line of Lot 51, extended South
in said subdivision, in Cook County, Illinois„ is not within the Village
of Elk Grove Village but is contiguous thereto and on the boundary
thereof and no part of which is in any other municipality; .and
WHEREAS, the territory to be annexed and as above described
will connect with that part of Laurel Street to be dedicated within the
Village; and
WHEREAS, it is desirMble and necessary that the Village annex
the aforesaid territory d(-.&cabitd as a public street; Now, Therefore -
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRF rIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTE25
OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE, GOOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
Section L That the territory, to -wit,
All that part of laurel Street„ as dedicated in Branigar's
Forest View Homesites, a Subdivision of part of Section 28,
Township 41 North, Range 11, .East of the Third Print?pal
Meridism, lying between the West line of Lot 139, extended
South in said Subdivision and the East lane of Lot 51„
extended South in said Subdivision, in Cook County, Illino-s..
which said territory has been dedicated as a public street, is contiguous
to the Village of Elk Grove Village and no part of which Is in any other
Municipality, be and the same is hereby annexed to the Village of Elk
a Grove Village, so that hereafter the said territory, dedicated for street
purposes, shall be included within the boundary lines and limits of
said Village of Elk Grove Village.
Section 2. That the Village Clerk be and is hereby directed
to record with the Recorder of Deeds of Cook County, Illinois, a
certified copy of this ordinance together with an accurate map of said
annexed territory.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and
effect upon its passage and approval according to law.
