Adoption of Build Code. There is hereby- adopted by the village of Elk Grove Village for the purpose of establishing rules and regula- tions for the construction. alteration, equipment, use and occupancy, location and maintenance of buildings and structures, including permits and penalties, that certain building code known as the "Basic Building Code" recommended by the Building Officials Conforence of America, Inc. , being particularly the 1455 edition thereof and the whold thereof, cava: and except such portions a:3 are hercinafter deleted, modified or amended, of which not less than three Q3^ copies have been and now axe filed in the office, of the Clerk of the p'ilkagp and the sante are hereby adopted and incorporated as fully as if set out at length herein, and from the date on which this ordinance shall take effect, the aravisiona thereof shall be controlling in the construction of all buildings and structures therein contained Within the corporate limits of the Village of r lk. s:.irove Village. He wha.11 examine premises for which permits have been issued and ehall make necessary inspections to see that the provisions of law are complied with and that con- struction is prosecuted safely. He shall enforce all provisions of the building; code. He shall,; when requested by proper authority, or when the public interest so requires, make investigations in connection with matters referred to in the building code and .render written reports on the same. To enforce compliance with law, to remove illegal or unsafe conditions, to secure the necessary safeguards during construction;, or to require adequate e2dot facilities in buildings and structures, he shall issue such notices or orders as may be necessary., (b) Inspections required under the provi zionG of the building code shall. Fire Limits Established, The fire limits o" the Village of Elk Grove Village are hereby established as follovars: All that area which is designated as the B -I and B-2 Business Districts and 7i1" -industrial District under the Elk Grove Village Zoning Ordinances. Section 10. Fees,. (a) No permit as required by the building code shall be issued until the fee prescribed in this or-linar e shall have been paid. Nor shall anrrsend- rrent to a hermit be approved until the additional foe, if any, due to an increase in the estimated cost of the building or structure, shall have been paid.. Amendments _Made in Said Code, The said code is an-)-n-led and changed in the following respects: yi) All references to height in this "Basic; Building Code" shall u,-, !governed by the height restrictions in the Elk Grove Village Zoning Ordiaanc:, (2) That Section 123, 3 of the "Basic Building; Code' shall be ionend:- by inserting as a fine the sura of $200. 00 and stri'.,ing out ''or by irnpri,soumfmn: not exceeding one (1) year; or both such fine and imprisonment".
