HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTION - 35-91 - 6/25/1991 - LTR OF AGRMT/COOK COUNTY HGHWY DEPTRESOLUTION NO. 35_91 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE VILLAGE PRESIDENT AND VILLAGE CLERK TO EXECUTE A LETTER OF AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE AND THE COOK COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF HIGH- WAYS FOR STREET LIGHTING AT ARLINGTON HEIGHTS ROAD AND COSMAN ROAD (MAINTENANCE AND ELECTRICAL ENERGY) NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, State of Illinois as follows: Section 1: That the Village President be and is hereby authorized to sign the attached documents marked: LETTER OF AGREEMENT STREET LIGHTING -- ARLINGTON HEIGHTS ROAD AT COSMAN ROAD a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof as if fully set forth and the Village Clerk is authorized to attest said documents upon the signature of the Village President. Section 2: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval according to law. PASSED this 25th day of June , 1991. APPROVED this 25th ATTEST: Patricia S. Re Arlington Heights Road at Cosman Road Section 90•V6938 -01 -CH Street Lighting Tai_ntenance, Electrical Energy Agreement: Letter of Agreement The Department of Higin.ay6, Cook County, has decided to provide street lighting for the captioned intersection in keeping with the safety aspects :)f op, -rating the intersection. The Department will design and construct the street lighting as part of the improvement to the intersection, proposed in response to accident experience and requests from the Village to reduce perceived hazards. The Department will pay installation costs in this case. The Department does not maintain,or pay energy costs of,street lighting. Accordingly, we are asking that you execute two copies of this Letter of Agreement, at an official Village Board meeting, thereby declaring that the Village of Elk Grove Village will, upon notice to at)so from 6a, County following final inspection of the completed intersection improvement, I. Pay, to the Commonwealth Edison Company, the costs of furnishing electrical energy for the street lighting system. The County will provide an electrical services contract with the Edison Company for the provision of the electrical energy and the vaymen- of the charges for same by the Village of Elk Grove Village; 2. Maintain, without cost to the County. the system of electric lighting including all appurtenances thr>reto; and assume full reeponsi.bi-lity therefor. Zettek May 29, 1991 -2- Along with your execution of both copies of this Letter of Agree- ment, we ask that you attach, to each cooy,a certified copy of that portion of the Village Board enabling minutes authorizing your signature (first page, page with enabling statement, last page), and then return both copies to us. We will present the Letter of Agreement to the Board of County Commissioners with a Resolution of Agreement for the Board to adopt, obligating the County to installing the street lighting and other terms affecting the County herein.
