HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTION - 16-89 - 3/28/1989 - 9 1 1 EMERGENCY TELEPHONE SERVICERESOLUTION NO. 16-89 A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF ENHANCED 9-1-1 EMERGENCY TELEPHONE SERVICE IN THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE WHEREAS, the Northwest Central Dispatch System was established to provide radio and telephone communications among the citizenry, police, fire and emergency medical services personnel; and WHEREAS, the Village of Elk Grove Village, Buffalo Grove, Arlington Heights, and Mount Prospect have participated in the Northwest Central Dispatch System since 1972; and WHEREAS, the Northwest Central Dispatch System has recommended the establishment of an Enhanced 9-1-1 Emergency Telephone System; and WHEREAS, an Enhanced 9-1-1 Emergency Telephone System will save lives and improve the delivery of Public Safety Services to the residents of Elk Grove Village; and WHEREAS, the elected representatives of the people of Elk Grove Village authorized a referendum to establish an Enhanced 9-1-1 Emergency Telephone System in the Village of Elk Grove Village; and WHEREAS, the referendum question will be decided on election day, April 4, 1989. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois as follows: Section 1: That all registered voters of the Village of Elk Grove are urged to vote on April 4, 1989 to establish Enhanced 9-1-1 Telephone Service for our Village. Section 2: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval according to law. VOTE: AYE: 6 PASSED this 28th APPROVED this 28th ATTEST: Patricia S.
