A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT TO EXECUTE A LETTER OF AGREEMENT
BETWEEN THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE AND THE COUNTY OF COOK TO IN-
SURE THE INSTALLATION OF TRAFFIC SIGNALS AT DEVON AVENUE AND PIERCE ROAD
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of
.Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and
DuPage, State of Illinois:
Section 1: That the Village President and Board of Trustees
hereby authorize the adoption of the attached documents marked:
LETTER OF AGREEMENT
a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof as if
fully set forth.
Section 2: That this Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval according to law.

Traffic Signal Installation
This Letter of Agreement is to bind the party represented or described a:cve
(hereinafter called "Applicant") and The County of Cook (hereinafter c=llei
County) to the traffic signals installation described as fellow»s:
A fully actuated traffic signal system at Devon Avenue anr' Pierce
.(Elk Grove Village has expressed interestin this oroposerl installation
by letters dated June 25 and July 30, 1955 from its Village 'Tanager.)
hereinafter called the Project. The Project's preliminary cost estimate is

County policy, at intersections of County highways and municipal streets, j.s
that municipalities are to bear a share of the Project installation and over^,Zing
costs. The municipal share is represented by the relative n,=r er o_` approac`,es to
the intersection for which that municipality is respcnsible with respect tc the
total number of intersection approaches. Accordingly:
L. County will design and install the Project, =ailse it to be maintained and
energized, and be responsible for settings and timings.
Z. Applicant will pay its share as determined abcve (estimated at 5 20,nr0

a. Pay County one fourth (25%)

b. Assume one fourth (259�) of the
electrical energy charges, payable to Commonwealth Edison Company in
accordance with an electrical services contract to be entered into with
that Company and County.
3. Applicant's payments to County of its share of the contract and maintenance
charges shall be by check, payable to the Treasurer for Cook County for
deposit in County's Motor Fuel Tax Account 600-570, and sent (or delivered)
to the County Superintendent of Highways.
If Applicant concurs in the above, the original and copy of this Letter of
Agreement should be returned to this Department, each with the attested signature
of Applicant's Chief executive below, and each with an enabling resolution or
official minutes of Applicant's executive board attached, authorizing that
signature and Applicant's assuming its obligations herein. This Department will
present this Letter of Agreement to the Board of County Commissioners with a
Resolution to be attached and made part hereof, which will authorize and bind the
County of Cook and Applicant, their respective successors and assigns, to their
respective obligations herein. The Resolution date will be the effective date
of this Letter of Agreement. This Letter of Agreement shall be voidable in event
County does not award a contract for the Project within four years of the
Resolution date.
