A RESOLUTION OF AUTHORIZATION FOR PARTICIPATION
IN JOINT PURCHASING AGREEMENTS WITH THE NORTH-
WEST MUNICIPAL CONFERENCE
WHEREAS, the Northwest Municipal Conference is an organization represen-
tative of municipalities, townships, and other units of local government,
chartered within the State of Illinois and the County of Cook, pursuant
to Article VII, Section 10, of the Constitution of the State of Illinois; and
WHEREAS, Illinois Revised Statutes, Chapter 85, Paragraphs 1601
through 1605 authorizes any governmental unit to purchase personal property,
supplies and services jointly with other governmental units; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Elk Grove Village is a governmental unit as
defined in the Illinois Revised Statutes; and
WHEREAS, arrangements have been made by the Northwest Municipal
Conference staff for possible joint purchase agreements with the State of
Illinois and/or other members of the Northwest Municipal Conference; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Elk Grove Village may find it economical to
purchase goods or services at prices obtained through competitive bidding
by the State of Illinois or by the Northwest Municipal Conference or
through negotiations and/or investigations by the Northwest Municipal
Conference.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, State of
Illinois, as follows:
Section 1. That the Director of Finance, Assistant Director of Finance
and the Purchasing Agent are hereby authorized to enter into agreements on
behalf of this municipality for joint purchasing with authorized units of
government under the law, including but not limited to the State of Illinois,
and other municipalities in the northwest Municipal Conference.
Section 2. That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to forward
certified copies of this Resolution to the Purchasing Agent, the State of
Illinois and to the Northwest Municipal Conference office.
Section 3. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval according to law.
