A RESOLUTION REQUESTING A REVIEW OF THE
VILLAGE'S CABLE TELEVISION FRANCHISE
AGREEMENT WITH WARNER -AMEX
WHEREAS, the Village has engaged a considerable amount
of its resources and time in reviewing proposals from various
cable communications companies regarding the granting of a
franchise for cable service within the Village; and
WHEREAS, the Village after its in-depth study selected
Warner -Amex because of its apparent financial stability and current
state of the art cable systems; and
WHEREAS, the Village is still of the opinion that the Warner -
Amex two-way interactive system is the best and most modern cable
system and is desirous of maintaining Warner -Amex as its franchisee
for cable services; and
WHEREAS, the Village has information that Warner -Amex may
be attempting to sell and assign its franchise for cable service
within the Village of Elk Grove Village; and
WHEREAS, the Village is desirous of keeping Warner -Amex as
its franchisee;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board
of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Cook and DuPage
Counties, Illinois as follows:
Section 1: That the Village review its Franchise Agreement
with Warner -Amex in an attempt to assist Warner -Amex through what
appears to be a period of financial difficulty so that Warner -Amex
will be in a position to continue as the Village's franchisee
of cable television services.
Section 2: That the Village is ready and willing to meet
with representatives of Warner -Amex to discuss problems of
mutual concern.
Section 3: That this Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval according to law.
