A RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF POTW PRETREATMENT PROGRAM
WHEREAS, under the Joint Wastewater Service Agreement of 1984
("Wastewater Agreement") the Village of Bensenville is charged, as owner of
of a publicly owned treatment works (POTW) , with the responsibility of
providing wastewater treatment for the Village of Bensenville and parts of
Elk Grove Village; and
WHEREAS, the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA)
has determined that the federal Clean Water Act requirements for wastewater -
pretreatment apply to the Wastewater Agreement; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Bensenville and Elk Grove Village have been
cooperating with USEPA and the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency
( TEPA) in planning and developing an acceptable POTW Pretreatment Program; and
WHEREAS, the deadline for the Village of Bensenville's POTW Pre-
treatment Program application is July 30, 1984.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Cook and DuPage Counties, Illinois as
follows:
Section 1 : That Elk Grove Village endorses the position of the
USEPA and IEPA concerning need of a POTW Pretreatment Program and intends
to implement by ordinance such a program following the requisite agency
approvals within 30 days thereof as provided in Section 9 of the Wastewater
Agreement;
Section 2: That Elk Grove Village in all other respects affirms the
convenants and terms of the Wastewater Agreement between the Village of
Bensenville as POTW and Elk Grove Village.
Section 3: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval according to law.
