A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING POLICY FOR THE
DISTRIBUTION OF THE ELK GROVE VILLAGE WATER/
SEWER CUSTOMER MAILING LIST AND/OR LABELS
WHEREAS, the Village of Elk Grove Village maintains a
list of all water/sewer customers in the Village which consists
of a master list plus supplemental updates prepared on a
monthly basis ; and
WHEREAS, the Village has received requests from various
religious , charitable, public service and other types of
not-for-profit agencies or corporations within the Village
for copies of said lists in order to advertise , promote and
otherwise inform the residents of the Village, including
new residents who have recently moved into the Village, of
the existence of said organizations , associations, clubs
and services ; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the
Village find and believe that it is in the best interest of
the Village that its residents be informed of the various
activities and functions of the local service and charitable
organizations and to that end find and believe it to be in
the best interest of the Village to make the mailing list
available to said organizations;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the President and
Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village,
Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois as follows :
Section 1: That the policy for the use of the mailing
list or labels of water/sewer customers of the Village of Elk
Grove Village shall be as follows:
1. SERVICES AVAILABLE.
A. Provide a computer printout of the names and
address of current water/sewer customers .
B. Provide pressure-sensitive labels with names
and addresses for the use on envelopes ,
circulars and other mailing pieces .
C. Provide a list of new customers and address
changes on a monthly—basis.
II. AVAILABILITY OF THE MAILING LIST.
The names and addresses of Village Water/Sewer
Customers shall only be available to non-commercial
enterprises .
111. REQUEST FOR THE MAILING LIST OR LABEL SERVICE.
Any individual, organization, club or agency entitled
to receive the mailing list shall make a written
application for same with the Director of Finance
of the Village which request shall identify the
applicant, the purpose for which the labels are to
be used, and a statement that the names and addresses
will not be used for any other purpose nor by anyone
other than the applicant. If the application is for
the. monthly list of new water/sewer customers then
said application shall include a report summarizing
the various uses to which the information has been
used in the past, if applicable, or will be used for
the year in which it is requested. Any applicant
who disseminates the mailing list to individuals or
entities who utilize same for a commercial enterprise,
shall be deemed ineligible to receive any subsequent
mailing list. Each request for the above service
shall be accompanied by the following service fee:
A. Pressure-Sensitive Labels or Amount
.Computer Printout:
Residential List $ 75 . 00
Commercial/Industrial List $ 25. 00
Total (both lists) $ 100 . 00
B. Monthly Mailing List of New
Customers $ 25. 00/year

C. There will be no charge to other governmental
agencies which provide service to Elk Grove
Village residents or to the scavenger service
which holds the franchise for residential
collection of refuse within the Village.
Section 2 : That this Resolution shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage and approval according
to law.
