A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE COUNTY OF COOK
DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS AND THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE FOR
A TRAFFIC SIGNAL AT LANDMEIER ROAD AND LIVELY BOULEVARD
MUREPORE, 13E IT RESOLVED by the Presid--nt and 3oard of Trustees
of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, State
of Illinois:
Section 1. That the Village President be and is hereby authorized to
sign the attached documents marked Landmeier Road and Lively Boulevard
Traffic Signal.Agreement;
, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part
hereof as if fully set forth and the Village Clerk is authorized to
attest said documents upon the signature of the Village President.
Section 2. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its +assage and approval according to law.

Village of Elk Grove Village
This Letter of Agreement is to bind the party represented or described above
(hereinafter called "Applicant") and The County of Cook (hereinafter called
County) to the traffic signals installation described as follows:
Design, install, operate and maintain a traffic -actuated,
volume -density controlled traffic signal system on landmeier
Road at Lively Boulevard.
hereinafter called the Project. The Project's preliminary cost estimate is
$ 100,000
County policy, at intersections of County highways and municipal streets, is
that municipalities are to bear a share of the Project installation and operating
costs, represented by the relative number of legs of the intersection which are
that municipality's responsibilities, with respect to the total number of
intersection legs. Accordingly:
1. County will design and install the Project, cause it to be maintained and
energized, and be responsible for settings and timings.
2. Applicant will pay its share as determined above (estimated at '$ 50,000 ),
One - half (50%
of the project contract costs. County will send a first statement for
One - fourth (25$) of the Project contract price at time of contract award,
and a second statement for the balance of Applicant's share of the contract
price (adjusted, if necessary) following inspection of the completed Project.
Applicant shall pay each statement within thirty (30) days of its date. Also,
after the completed Project inspection, Applicant will:
a. Pay County One - half (50$)
of the maintenance charges, within thirty (30) days of County's quarterly
(3 month) statement for same,
b. Assume One - half (50%) of the
electrical energy charges, payable to Commonwealth Edison Company in
accordance with an electrical services contract to be entered into with
that Company and County.
3. Applicant's payments to County of its share of the contract and maintenance
charges shall be by check, payable to the Treasurer for Cook County for
deposit in County's Motor Fuel Tax Account 600-570, and sent (or delivered)
to the County Superintendent of Highways.
If Applicant concurs in the above, the original and copy of this Letter of
Agreement should be returned to this Department, each with the attested signature
of Applicant's Chief executive below, and each with an enabling resolution or
official minutes of Applicant's executive board attached, authorizing that
signature and Applicant's assuming its obligations herein. This Department will
present this Letter of Agreement to the Board of County Commissioners with a
Resolution to be attached and made part hereof, which will authorize and bind the
County of Cook and Applicant, their respective successors and assigns, to their
respective obligations herein. The Resolution date will be the effective date
of this Letter of Agreement. This Letter of Agreement shall be voidable in event
County does not award a contract for the Project within four years of the
Resolution date.
