CERTIFICATE OF AUTHORITY ISSUED PURSUANT TO SECTION 18.4205 OF
THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE, ILLINOIS
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk
Grove Village, sitting as a Vehicle Commission, did conduct a public hearing
for the purpose of ascertaining the public need for taxicab service within
the Village of Elk Grove Village, in accordance with its ordinances and the
laws of the State of Illinois; and
WHEREAS, the American Taxi Dispatch, Inc, is presently engaged in
the taxicab business and have presented convincing evidence to the authorities
of the Village of Elk Grove Village of its ability to provide suitable and
adequate taxicab service for the residents of the Village.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS CERTIFIED by the President and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois;
acting in the capacity of the Vehicle Commission:
I.- That there is public need for taxicab service in the Village of
of Elk Grove Village and that the issuance of licenses for eight
(8) taxicabs to the American Taxi Dispatch, Inc. would satisfy
said need for benefit to the public.
2. That in the event that sufficient taxi service is not provided
by said American Taxi Dispatch, Inc. the President and Board of
Trustees will conduct a public hearing and, if at that time, in
its sole discretion the American Taxi Dispatch, Inc. has not
kept up with the need for taxi service, the President and Board
of Trustees shall have the right to terminate this franchise plus
the right of the American Taxi Dispatch, Inc. to have future
requests for taxicab service and licenses, if the additional
service deemed necessary by the President and Board of Trustees
is not provided within thirty (30) days after written request.
3• Nothing in this Certificate of Authority shall prevent or be so
construed to prevent the Village of Elk Grove Village from
issuing such additional licenses, as it may deem necessary in
accordance with its ordinances and the laws of the State of
Illinois, to any person or corporation whatsoever.
4. That the Village President and Village Clerk in accordance with
this certificate shall be and are hereby authorized to issue a
license to the American Taxi Dispatch, Inc. for eight (8)
taxicabs, upon compliance with all the terms and provisions of
Article XLII of Chapter 18 of the Municipal Code of the Village
of Elk Grove Village.
