A RESOLUTION OF INTEREST IN THE POLICE RECRUITMENT AND TESTING
CONSORTIUM OF THE NORTHWEST MUNICIPAL CONFERENCE AREA
WHEREAS, the Village of Elk Grove Village periodically conducts recruitment
and testing of candidates for positions in the police department; and
WHEREAS, it has been demonstrated that significant numbers of candidates
also apply to a number of other municipalities within the conference area; and
WHEREAS, this duplication of recruiting and testing results in unnecessary
expense and efforts for the many municipalities; and
WHEREAS, a special task force of the Northwest Municipal Conference has
proposed the establishment of a Consortium to conduct a joint recruitment and
testing program to eliminate this costly and inefficient duplication;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the President and Board of Trustees of
the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, State of Illinois,
that the Village of Elk Grove Village expresses its interest in the concept of
affiliating with other municipalities in the Consortium, and will advise the
Northwest Municipal Conference of its final decision regarding joining the Consortium
no later than April 15, 1978.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Village of Elk Grove Village appoint one
representative to serve on the Board of Directors of the Consortium and discharge
the duties as described in the By -Laws of the Consortium; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the
office of the Northwest Municipal Conference for purposes of record.
