A RESOLUTION DIRECTED TO THE COOK COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS,
COOK COUNTY BOARD OF APPEALS AND THE COUNTY CLERK, FOR TRANSMITTAL
TO THE COOK COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS PROTESTING THE PETITION
FOR RE -ZONING PROPERTY LOCATED ON THE NORTH SIDE OF OAKTON STREET
AND EAST OF THE VILLAGE LIMITS OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE
WHEREAS, the Petitioners and Owners, John and George Gullo, of the
property legally described as follows:
The East 100 feet of the West 514.16 feet as measured on the
south line thereof, of the South 950 feet of the following
described tract of land: That part of the West half of the
Southwest quarter of Section 22, Township 41 North, Range 11,
East of the Third Principal Meridian, beginning at a post
at the Southwest corner of said West half: Thence East 9.76
chains to a post; Thence North 27.85 chains to post in the
center of road; thence North 810 West, 9.81 chains to post
at corner of land owned by H. Scharinghausen on the West
line of said West half thence South 29.31 chains to the point
of beginning. ALSO:
The South 950 feet (except the West 514.16 feet as measured
on the South line thereof) of the above described tract of
land aforesaid. ALSO:
The East 184.16 feet of the West 414.16 feet (as measured
on the South line thereof) of the South 950.0 feet of the
above described tract of land aforesaid and in all consisting
of approximatley 9 acres.
have petitioned for re -zoning of same from R-5 Single Family Resident
District to -1-1 Restricted Industrial District, to permit the construction
of Six (6) industrial type buildings; and
WHEREAS, said case has been docketed as Docket Number 2705 by the Cook
County Zoning Board of Appeals; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Elk Grove Village is contiguous to this property
on the West and South sides.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees of
the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, State of Illinois.
Section 1. That the Village of Elk Grove Village does hereby register
objections to the petitioner's request for the re -zoning of the subject prop-
erty described above for the following reasons:
a. The Elk Grove Village Comprehensive Plan and Official Map adopted
On October 22, 1968 and duly filed with the Cook County Clerk declares said
land to be within our future annexation plans and for it to be within the
corporate limits of Elk Grove Village.
b. If developed as an unincorporated area, it would not be adequately
served by essential urban services such as Police protection, Fire protection,
Ambulance service, Water supply and Street services.
c. If developed as an unincorporated area, it would be an island unto
itself always seeking public services In time of crisis from the Village of
Elk Grove Village without sharing in the continuing costs of maintaining
such services.
Section 2. Therefore, the Village of Elk Grove Village does respect-
fully request that the petition for re -zoning be denied.
Section 3. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage and approval according to law.
Section 4. That the Village Clerk's Office is hereby directed to submit
the foregoing resolution to all governmental bodies having jurisdiction and
an interest in the development of the premises as set forth above and as set
forth in the caption thereto.
