A RESOLUTION OFFICIALLY APPLYING FOR BI -CENTENNIAL STATUS FOR THE
VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE
WHEREAS, The Village President of the Village of Elk Grove Village
with the consent of the Board of Trustee, did officially on May 8, 1973
appoint Trustee Nancy L. Vanderweel , as Chairman, Trustees George T.
Spees and Theodore J. Staddler as members of a Committee to undertake
the planning of a program of celebration for 1976 (The Nation's Bi-
Centennial) ; and
WHEREAS, The Bi-Centennial Committee has contacted individuals and
community groups to organize and make plans to celebrate these occasions
in 1976; and
WHEREAS, some 80 community groups in Elk Grove Village have planned
events for the Bi-Centennial Year, covering some 300 event days.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the President and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, that the
Village of Elk Grove Village does hereby apply for Bi-Centennial status from
the American Revolution Bi-Centennial Administration of Washington, D.C.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this resolution shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage and approval according to law.
