A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH ALEXIAN BROTHERS MEDICAL CENTER
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, State of
Illinois:
� Section 1 . That the Village President be and is hereby authorized to
sign the attached document. . . . . An Agreement with Alexian Brothers Medical
Center, outlining the responsibilities and requirements for both the Village
and Alexian Brothers Medical Center with respect to a training program for
Paramedics and Emergency Medical Technicians , a copy of which is attached hereto
and made a part hereof as if fully set forth and the Village Clerk is authorized
to attest said documents upon the signature of the Village President.
Section 2. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage and approval according to law.

AGREEMENT
THIS AGREPUNT is made this 19th day of
February 1 1974 , between the Village of Elk
Grove Village , Illinois , a municipal corporation
(herein referred to as the "Village") and Alexian
Brothers Medical Center, Inc. , a Texas non-profit
corporation (herein referred to as the "Medical
Center") .
PURPOSE
SINCE the Village desires to provide its
emergency medical technicians and its mobile inten-
sive care personnel (herein collectively referred to
as "ambulance personnel") with an opportunity to im-
prove or refresh their emergency and mobile intensive
care skills on an on-going basis ; and
SINCE the Medical Center is willing to pro-
vide such training to the Villa.ge ' s ambulance personnel
through a Program of active participation in rendering
care in the Medical Center ' s emergency room under the
direct supervision of nurses and physicians in the
emergency room.
NOW THEREFORE , the Village and the Medical
Center agree as follows :
1 . The Medical Center shall allow the Village ' s
ambulance personnel to study in the Medical Center ' s emer-
gency room the medical techniques used in treating emergency
patients and to administer care to such patients under the
direct supervision of the nurses and physicians in the emer-
gency room. This program of training shall be the Medical
Center ' s Ambulance Personnel Training Program (the "Program") .
2 . The Medical Center shall classify the Village ' s
ambulance personnel for all purposes as students while they
are participating in the Program.
3, The Medical Center shall not offer or give the
Village ' s ambulance personnel any monetary or other compensa-
tion for participation in the Program or for any work done
in the emergency room.
4 . The Village, through the Fire Chief, shall in-
form the Medical Center at least two days before any ambul-
ance personnel are to participate in the Program stating
their names , zhe extent of their training and whether they
are certified by the State of Illinois as mobile intensive
care personnel .

S . The Medical Center shall require each of the
ambulance personnel participating in the Program to sign
an agreement setting forth the medical procedures or medi-
cation which the individual will be allowed to administer
in the emergency room in which such individual agrees (a)
not to administer any other medical treatment , (b) to fol-
low all the directions of the nurses and physicians in the
emergency room , (c) to observe all t,he INIedical Center ' s rules
and regulations .
6. All ambulance personnel participating in the
Program are and shall continue to be at all times employees
of the Village only and shall under no circumstances be con-
sidered employees of the Medical Center.
7 . The Village does hereby indemnify and agrees to
hold the Medical Center, its officers , agents and employees
harmless from and against (a) all claims , actions or suits of
its ambulance personnel arising from any activity related to
the Program , and (b) all damages , losses , claims , suits or
actions resulting from acts or omissions of the ambulance
personnel while participating in the Program.
8. This agreement may be amended from time to time
by a written instrument signed by both the Village Manager
and the Medical Center.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF , the parties hereto have caused
this agreement to be signed by their respective officers as
of the date and year first above written.
