A RESOLUTION COMMENDING DANIEL E. BYTNAR
WHEREAS , The National Safety Council has commended and congratulated
Daniel E. Bytnar for his quick and effective response to a situation in
which the life of another human being was endangered, and
WHEREAS, Daniel E. Bytnar was instrumental in saving a companion from
drowning in Lake Cosman on April 17, 1974 when their canoe overturned,
forcing him and his friends to swim to shore. Observing Rhonda Macro face
down in the water and realizing she was drowning, Daniel immediately swam
to her aid and brought her safely to shore, and
WHEREAS, Daniel E. Bytnar demonstrated the critical importance of a
life-saving skill when an emergency made it necessary, and
WHEREAS, Daniel E. Bytnar is to be commended for his mental alertness
and his unselfish act of human kindness that saved a life.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, State
of Illinois, that Daniel E. Bytnar is hereby commended for his outstanding
performance and extend to him our heartfelt appreciation on behalf of
the Village of Elk Grove Village.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval according to law.
