Under this arrangement the client is given a detailed description of the work to be accomplished and a "ceiling figure" which is the maximum charge to be made for the work. Statements of charges made against a project are submitted to clients every four weeks. This permits the client to review the status of work in progress and the charges made. Statements list the category of personnel that has worked on the project, the numbers of hours spent, and the charges for the personnel. Statements also show "out-of-pocket" costs such as client authorized travel and living expenses when personnel is away from the office. Printing and other direct charges shall also be included. The total billing consists of the personnel charges plus the out-of-pocket charges. The schedule of charges for our personnel includes allowance for office overhead and profit. The current schedule is: Charge Charge Personnel Category Per Hour Per Day 1. Senior Partner $40.00 $320.00 2. Project Architect $35.00 $280.00 3. Senior Professional. $30.00 $240.00 4. Junior Professional $20.00 $160.00 5; Clerical, SLenographic & Drafting $12.00 $ 96.00 6. Consulting Engineers - Reimbursement at direct cost plus ten percent. Senior profes.sionals are persons with degrees in engineering, landscape archi- tecture, architecture or one of the social sciences, and with ten years or more of experience. Partners are senior professionals with more experience. Junior professionals will have the degree in the fields outlined above or an equivalent amount of experience (possibly with a non-professional degree) and will have less than five years experience. Very few would be registered. Category 5 includes all nonprofessional personnel of the office. It is further -understood and agreed that all work shall be billed on an "hourly rate/cost plus basis", as stipulated above, for each of the five phases listed in Art,le 1 (Schematic, Design, Construction Documents, Bidding and Construction) . It is also understood and agreed that the total hourly charges for architectural services which includes all five phases of Article 1. shall not exceed six percent (6'/.') of the cost of constructicn when totaled at the completion of the Vro 'ect. I%Nthin the above maximum fee of 6% the total hourly charges for the bidding and construction phases of Article 1 shall not exceed three percent (3%) of the cost of construction when totaled at the completion of the project.
