A RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF LEGISLATION
REQUIRING NOTICE TO CONCERNED MUNICIPALITIES
AND SCHOOL DISTRICTS OF MATTERS PENDING BEFORE
THE BOARD OF TAX APPEALS

WHEREAS, the Village of Elk Grove Vile is desirous of {;

maximizing revenues received from general taxes so that
it may better discharge its governmental responsibilities; and
WHEREAS, the County Board of Tax Appeals has the authority "

to grant tax relief to property owners over the objection of the
County Assessor; and
i
WHEREAS, the school districts and municipalities within which
the property is situated have a special interest in preserving
property assessments and oppose reductions;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the President and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Cook and DuPage
Counties, Illinois, as follows:
Section 1: That the President and Board of Trustees urge
the Illinois State Assembly to enact legislation which will require
that prior notice be given concerned municipalities and school dis-
tricts as to pending petitions for tax valuation relief filed before
County Boards of Tax Appeals so that said municipalities and school
d�atricts may directly represent their interests in said matters in
such manner as to afford the Board of Tax Appeals complete informa-
tion before it determines property tax valuations.
Section 2: That the Village Clerk is authorized and
directed to forthwith transmit this Resolution to all State Representa-
tives and State Senator of the districts within which the Village
lies, the Illinois Municipal League, and such other persons as the
