A RESOLUTION IN OPPOSITION TO THE VILLAGE OF ARLINGTON HEIGHTS FOR
VIOLATING ANNEXATION BOUNDARY WITH ELK GROVE VILLAGE
Section 1 . WHEREAS the Village of Elk Grove Village complied with the
requirements of the Illinois Statutes in adopting a Compre-
hensive Plan and an Official Map in 1968,
WHEREAS the Comprehensive Plan and Official Map established
the Northwest Toll Road as the northern most boundary of Elk
Grove Village,
WHEREAS the deIination of the planning, development and service
area of Elk Grove Village was done in consideration of the int-
erests of Arlington Heights so that both municipalities might
better accomplish their long term goals, extend public utilities
and provide services without conflict or competition,
WHEREAS the Official Map of Elk Grove Village was transmitted
to the Village Clerk of Arlington Heights on July 10, 1969 to
inform and assist Arlington Heights in its planning for future
growth,
WHEREAS the Village of Arlington Heights has not objected to
the planning jurisdiction and future boundaries of Elk Grove
Village as delinated on the Official Map.
NOW WHEREAS the Village of Arlington Heights is considering
violating the planned and announced jurisdiction of Elk Grove
Village by annexing undeveloped land south of the Northwest
Toll Road,
The President and Board of Trustees of the Village Board do
hereby resolve to take such steps and action as may be appro-
priate to cause the Village of Arlington Heights to honor the
established boundary line and to terminate forthwith its con-
sideration to annex any property for any purpose which is
located south of the Northwest Toll Road.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Village of Elk Grove Village
hereby expresses total an unqualified objections to the Village
of Arlington Heights in its consideration of an annexation
south of the Northwest Toll Road.
Section 2. IT IS THEREFORE RESOLVED that the Village of Elk Grove Village
hereby expresses complete dissatisfaction with the actions of
the Village of Arlington Heights in giving consideration to the
annexation of any land south of the Toll Road.
BE IT RESOLVED that the Village of Elk Grove Village hereby
strongly urges the Village of Arlington Heights to exercise its
responsibility to foster good intergovernmental relations and to
reaffirm itself to be a responsible good neighbor.
Section 3. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage and approval according to law.
