A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE HONORABLE
GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS TO
PROVIDE FOR TI -E] CONSTRUCTION OF A
FULL INTERCHANGE FACILITY AT INTERSTATE
90 AND BIESTERFIELD ROAD
WHEREAS, an interchange at Interstate 90 and Biesterfield
Road would provide access to the recreational space being created
in. the Ned Brown Forest Preserve for the residents of this area;
and
WHEREAS, said interchange would facilitate access to the
Interstate system due to its central location between the existing
interchanges located at Route 72 and Thorndale Avenue; and
WHEREAS, said interchange would provide access for motorists
in need of medical attention due to sickness or injury, to the
A.lexian Brothers Medical Cent<r located on. Biesterfield Road; and
WHEREAS, access to and from the Interstate Highway is necessary
in. light of the abandonment of Route 53;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the President and Board
of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and
DuPage, Illinois, as follows:
Section l: That the Honorable Governor of the State of
Illinois is hereby requested -to provide for the construction of a
full interchange at Interstate 90 and Biesterfield Roads.
Section 2: That the J.Jonorable Governor is hereby further
requested to direct the State Highway Department to proceed with such
measures as are necessary to ,provide for such construction.
Section 3: That this Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval, according to law.
