HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTION - 13-72 - 3/7/1972 - AUTH CURRENCY EXCH & BANKS/COLLECT PMTSRESOLUTION NO o Z?� A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CURRENCY EXCHANGES AND BANKS LOCATED In' THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE TO SELL VEHICLE -LICENSES AND/OR COLLECT PAYMENT FOR WATER AND SEWER UTILITY BILLS AT THEIR ESTABLISHMENTS WHEREAS, the Elk Grove Currency Exchange in the Park 'N Shop Shopping Center and the Grove Exchange located in the Grove Shopping Center are currently collecting water and sewer bills at a cost of 5� per bill to the Village; and WHEREAS, the above mentioned exchanges and the Bank of Elk Grove sell vehicle licenses at no charge to the Village; and WHEREAS, the payment of %,,rater and sewer utility bills is solely a convenience for the customer; and WHEREAS, the sale of vehicle licenses is a service rendered by the establishment as well as a method to induce more customers into their respective establishments; and WHEREAS, the currency exchanges and banks can charge the customer a fee for the above mentioned services. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk: Grove Village, counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois, as follows: Section 1: That all banks and currency exchanges located in the Village of Elk Grove Village be authorized to sell vehicle licenses and/or collect payment for water and sewer bills at their establishment. Section 2: That said banks and currency exchanges shall be allowed to charge the customers a reasonable fee which in thi r opinion is appropriate to provide for this service. Section 3: That no cost for selling vehicle licenses and collecting water and sewer bills shall be borne by the Village and thus the Village is not obligated to reimburse the currency exchangesand banks for these services. Section 4: That any bank or currency exchange desiring to be an authorized agency for the above services must first present his request in writing and, upon recommendation by the Director of Finance and approval by the Village Manager, and after being in- structed in the clerical duties and responsibilities involved in receiving payments for water and sewer utility bills and/or selling vehicle licenses, they be designated as an authorized agency of the Village. Sec ticn 5: `I•hat Leis resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval, according to law. PASSED this ' day of Ii % y' '! 1972. APPROVED this 1 day of / 1972.
